Semi-Automated Test
providing standardised and reproducible results.
von Willebrand disease (vWD) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by missing or defective von Willebrand factor (vWF).
Since von Willebrand disease is complex, its diagnosis requires a comprehensive panel of tests to ensure accurate detection and proper subtype classification. Multimer analysis is a key component of this diagnostic workup, providing essential information to clinicians for optimal patient management.
HYDRAGEL von WILLEBRAND MULTIMERS kit is designed for the detection of abnormalities in the vWF multimers distribution related to a hemorrhagic diathesis. The test allows to assess the overall size distribution of von Willebrand factor multimers in human plasma using agarose gel electrophoresis and immunofixation, with the semi-automated HYDRASYS 2 SCAN FOCUSING instrument.

with densitometry-based interpretations.
HYDRAGEL von WILLEBRAND MULTIMERS allows separating small, intermediate, and large molecular weight multimers.
The assay is carried out in two stages:
The semi-automated HYDRASYS 2 SCAN FOCUSING instrument performs all the steps needed to obtain gels ready for visual and densitometry-based interpretations.
